Carpal tunnel syndrome occurs when the median nerve is compressed under the carpal ligament. Carpal Tunnel may be caused by many factors, however it is aggravated with repetitive strain and poor work habits.
Symptoms may occur at any time but are often worse at night. Conservative treatment includes splinting, changing work postures and performing certain exercises aimed at maintaining mobility in the wrist and movement of the nerve.
Exercises to move wrist and nerve done 3 times per day, 10 Repetitions each time.
Hand Therapy may be helpful with conservative interventions. Certified Hand Therapy Services, under the direction of Yeeria Yee OTR, are available.
